Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
I found the bottled 2022 Trousseau Amphore to be a little blurry. Vinified, aged and bottled without any added sulfur, which is the custom for Poulsard, this was destemmed by hand and had three months of maceration. It revealed some meaty notes, hints of leather and an earthy character that give it a rustic edge. Maybe it needs more time in bottle.

Description
Tissot Trousseau En Amphore is a wine that stands out for its uniqueness and meticulous winemaking. Produced in the prestigious Jura region of France, this wine is the result of the passion and know-how of Domaine André et Mireille Tissot. The grape variety used is Trousseau, known for its adaptability to the specific terroir of the Jura, and in this case, it constitutes 100% of the wine's composition.
Winemaking
The vinification process of Tissot Trousseau En Amphore includes a three-month maceration in 420-litre amphorae, followed by a nine-month ageing in the same containers, without filtration or addition of SO2, highlighting the commitment to natural and biodynamic methods.
Taste
Tissot Trousseau En Amphore offers a deep and complex taste experience. On the nose, it presents intense aromas of ripe red fruit and a spicy touch that invites you to discover it. The palate is rich and vibrant, with a soft but present tannic structure that adds body and persistence. This wine is characterised by its balance between fruit intensity and well-integrated sapidity, making it an ideal accompaniment to red meats and roast poultry. Ageing in amphorae is not only a winemaking method that respects the varietal expression of Trousseau, but also contributes to the wine's complexity and unique texture, offering a long and memorable finish.
This wine is undoubtedly an authentic expression of the Jura terroir, reflecting not only the quality of the Trousseau grape but also the winemaking philosophy that seeks to preserve the purity and natural expression of the fruit. Its production in amphorae, an ancestral technique that has been rediscovered and valued for its ability to enhance the characteristics of the wine, is a testament to Domaine Tissot's innovative and respectful approach to viticulture.
