La Ferme des Roumanes vineyard
They work the land with special care, to encourage the development of a living soil with a maximum of biodiversity. The idea is to create the ideal balance between the soil and the grapes. Their philosophy is focused on recovering the natural expression of the terroir. For this reason, they do not use any synthetic products for treatments. Neither chemicals nor pesticides. On the contrary, they work with algae and plants to fortify the plant. Their soils are basaltic, which provides a strong minerality. The grapes are harvested by hand, and they strongly believe that in a healthy vineyard, the grapes naturally have everything they need for spontaneous fermentation.
Wines of La Ferme des Roumanes
2014 is the year of their first vintage. They have a white cuvée, chardonnay, with aromas of fruit, mainly pear, white flesh, with a fresh finish characteristic of basaltic soils. And a red cuvée, merlot, with a red fruit aroma. It is vinified with whole bunches of grapes, aged for nine months in oak barrels. Of course, bottling takes place without any technical interventions, which could alter the bacterial life of the wine. This translates as: no addition of chemicals. However, sulphites may sometimes be added in small quantities, but only if necessary.
