A little bit of their history
The Joan Rubió Winery began as a family project at the beginning of the 20th century, with the purchase of a plot of land located in the Anoia region. The land was used for agriculture. From then on, the Rubió family has diversified its activities and at the same time has been trying and combining different crops, to give rise to its path to success since 2008.
It was founded with the aim of producing wines in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. This project started with the idea of implementing biodynamic and organic farming to obtain natural ingredients and to preserve the authentic quality, taste and aroma of the wine.
From the beginning, they decided to use organic and biodynamic agriculture as an approach to use only natural elements that do not affect the health of the plants and the soil, so they avoid using chemical fertilisers and pesticides that can damage the soil.
In 2011 they harvested their first vintage, and since then the winery has become one of the most recognised in the world of organic and natural wines. Over the years, it has diversified, adding more grape varieties and developing different techniques to improve the quality and sustainability of the winemaking process.
Today, the Joan Rubió winery has a wide variety of wines, whether sparkling, red or white wines, each of which is made from selected, manually harvested grapes and fermented using indigenous yeasts, i.e. naturally present in the grapes, without the addition of any other products.
Visiting the Joan Rubió winery is a unique experience where you can learn more about the winemaking process and taste some of their extensive range of wines.
