Buy Wine from Clot De Les Soleres
Carles Mora and Montse Mora, partners and friends, run the Clot de les Soleres winery. The name of the winery is attributed to one of the plots of the company Heretat Ferrer de la Vall, (Barcelona).
The Heretat Ferrer de la Vall estate is located in the municipality of Piera in Anoia, Catalonia, Spain.
Location of the winery
The Clot de les Soleres winery is an original rectangular building from 1880 located in the town of Piera (Penedès).
History of the Clot De Les Soleres winery
In 2001 Carles and Montse Mora wanted to revive their family winemaking tradition. Later, in 2006, they began to renovate the winery. In 2008, they produced their first natural wine.
Their wines are not made with unnecessary interventions or additives, they are the result of biodynamic practices and are available to everyone.
The vineyards
Until the end of the 1970s, wine was made on the land where the Clot de les Soleres winery's vineyards are located today.
Subsequently, vinification ceased and the grapes began to be sold to the big cava houses. In 2001, the tradition of making their own wines was recovered and new vines were planted.
The estate in general is made up of 130 hectares, of which 23 hectares are currently dedicated to unirrigated vineyards, without irrigation.
The soils are calcareous, with agglomerations of gravel and clay, loamy-loam type, with a pleasant climate all year round, oriented to the southeast.
The vineyards are located within the Heretat Ferrer de la Vall estate, from which a small but high quality production is obtained, being the grapes used to make each delicious wine.
Use of ecological techniques
The vineyards have been treated in an organic way, and have the organic production certificate (CCPAE).
Its wines
The wines of the Clot de les Soleres winery are made using what are known today as "natural" methods. This means without additions or unnecessary interventions.
Carles and Montse ensure that the grape must is transformed into wine as spontaneously as possible.
In this way they aim to achieve honest and affordable wines that anyone can afford. They are wines that are essentially reminiscent of those of yesteryear, they are forceful, clear and expressive wines.
Their wine is nothing more than the fruit of the fermentation of the grape in its purity, without any artifice that could modify its natural course.
And you, do you already know some of the authentic natural wines produced by Carles Mora and Montse Mora? What do you think of this winery and its wines?
