Buy Wine from Bodegas y Viñedos Neo
In the tranquil region of Ribera del Duero, specifically in Aranda de Duero (Burgos), at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level, stands Bodegas y Viñedos Neo.
Founded in 1999 by three friends with a passion for wine and music -JavierAjenjo, Julio César Conde and José Luis Simón-, the winery was born with the aim of creating wines that captured the essence of the environment. With no vineyards of their own at the beginning, the founders acquired grapes from vineyards over 50 years old to give life to their first wines. This shared dream grew over the years. In 2007, the founders inaugurated their own winery, with facilities of 2,000 square metres. The figure of winemaker Isaac Fernández Montaña, one of the most respected experts in the region, has been fundamental in the evolution of the winery and in the recognition of its wines in national and international markets.
Today, Neo distinguishes itself by uniting the world of wine and music, a unique combination that turns each bottle into a singular melody for the senses. This approach has earned it praise and high scores from critics, including the influential Robert Parker, who ranked Neo among the five most promising wineries in Spain.
Vineyards
Neo 's vineyards extend over some 10 hectares of mostly Tempranillo grapes. The vines, with an average age of 70 years, are living witnesses to the history and character of the land. The terroir is clay-limestone, which gives the wines their characteristic minerality and depth. With a harsh continental climate, the hot summers and cold winters give the grapes a hardiness and concentrated flavour.
Cultivation is careful and respectful of the environment, adopting ecological practices. Under the supervision of Isaac Fernandez, strict quality control is carried out at every stage, from grape selection to manual harvesting. This approach allows the essence of Ribera del Duero to be captured in each bottle and ensures the longevity and character of its wines.
Philosophy
The philosophy of Bodegas y Viñedos Neo is an ode to tradition and oenological art, without losing sight of modernity. At Neo, each wine is a work of art that is made with care, following traditional winemaking practices such as manual harvesting and careful maceration. Ageing takes place in French and American oak barrels, a combination that allows for a balance between the freshness of the fruit and the complexity of the wood.
The winery maintains a limited production to guarantee the quality and exclusivity of each bottle. Neo wines are not clarified or filtered, thus preserving their authentic character. Each numbered bottle is a sign of dedication and respect for the raw material, and is distributed in demanding markets such as the United States, Canada, Brazil, Japan and China.
