Buy Wine from Raventós i Blanc
If we mention Raventós i Blanc, we are talking about one of the families with the longest history in the world of wine in Spain. Since 1497 -yes, more than five centuries ago- they have been cultivating vineyards in Sant Sadurní d'Anoiain the heart of the Penedès. But make no mistake: this winery is not stuck in the past. On the contrary, they have always been one step ahead. Their last great revolution was the creation of Conca del Riu Anoia, their own appellation that defied the established rules and marked a new path for quality sparkling wines in Catalonia.
A vineyard with soul
The Raventós i Blanc estate is not just any vineyard. Not only do grapes grow here, but the landscape comes alive with each season. The river Anoia marks the limits of this privileged corner, where the soils, calcareous marl, gravel and sandstone, endow the wines with a brutal minerality. And the best of all is that in these 44 hectares, biodynamics is not a passing fad, but a philosophy of life. The vineyards are worked with total respect, with green roofs, animals grazing between the rows and a total connection with nature.
Rebels with a cause
Raventós i Blanc has not only been part of the history of Cava, but has rewritten its rules. In 1872, Josep Maria Raventós created the first Catalan sparkling wine using the traditional method. But in 2012, the family made a coup: they left the Cava D.O. to found Conca del Riu Anoia, an area with very high quality standards. The reason? They wanted to make wines with more authenticity, more expressive of their land and unbound by rules that did not fit their vision.
Bubbles with identity
What makes Raventós i Blanc wines unique is their loyalty to the terroir. There are no shortcuts here: only native varieties, Xarel-lo, Macabeu, Parellada, Sumoll and Monastrell, long ageing and minimal intervention. The Xarel.lo is the star, with its structure and ageing capacity, while the Macabeu and Parellada add freshness and elegance. All fermented with indigenous yeasts, the ageing on lees is long and the result is wines with a silky texture and impressive depth.
A winery that leads the way
Today, under the direction of Pepe Raventós, the winery continues to break the mould. Its commitment to sustainability, biodynamics and purity in its wines has made Raventós i Blanc an absolute benchmark for quality sparkling wines. Each bottle is a declaration of intent: here they do not make wines to follow fashions, but to express the soul of their land.
To drink Raventós i Blanc is to travel to the soul of the Penedès region
If there is one thing that makes Raventós i Blanc special, it is its ability to capture the essence of the Penedès in every glass. Their sparkling wines have character, tension, balance and that minerality that transports you directly to the sun-drenched vineyards. It doesn't matter if you are a wine expert or if you simply want to discover something different: when you try Raventós i Blanc, you understand that there are bubbles... and then there are theirs.
