The 2019 Les Tosses is their top-of-the range, single-vineyard Cariñena from a high-altitude vineyard. It is open and expressive, juicy and approachable, even if it felt quite young and evolving at a slow pace. It has an elegant and perfumed nose, with none of the rusticity Cariñena can sometimes show. There is finesse and very tasty flavors, but it doesn't seem to have huge complexity. Will it become more complex with more time in bottle? 1,068 bottles produced.

Description
Terroir al Límit Les Tosses was born in the Terroir al Límit winery located in Priorat. This winery has managed to capture the essence and character of the terroir of Torroja del Priorat through this wine.
The story of Les Tosses begins with a chance encounter when Dominik Huber, perhaps guided by destiny, discovers this small 2-hectare plot at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level. This vineyard is not only the highest in the village of Torroja del Priorat, but also the first in the Terroir al Límit collection. The vineyard is characterised by its 90-year-old Cariñena vines, its steep black slate slopes and its intense southwest exposure.
Winemaking
The winemaking is inspired by winemaking techniques from the cold, misty hills of Burgundy. The grapes are harvested by hand, fermented with indigenous yeasts with whole clusters and then aged for 8 months in concrete vats.
Taste
Terroir al Límit Les Tosses is a wine that reflects the raw, rugged power of the sunny, dusty hills of Torroja. In the glass, opulent black fruits and rich aromas of smoke and spices can be appreciated. Despite its powerful start, a serious, thoughtful character emerges, with bright, taut acidity giving it incredible drive. Each sip is a mesmerising whirlwind of power and energy, intensity and beauty.
