Description
Derain Saint-Aubin Le Ban is a natural red wine, created by the Dominique Derain winery, located in the Saint Aubin region of Burgundy, France, which produces high quality natural wines, such as the one mentioned above.
Winemaking
The production of Derain Saint-Aubin Le Ban wine comes from two small, very old plots of land and another of recent times. Their soils are composed of clay and limestone and they are located at an altitude of 290 metres above sea level.
The harvest for the production of Derain Saint-Aubin Le Ban wine is carried out manually and vinified in French oak barrels. It takes ten days of maceration and finally ages in the barrels where it is fermented for a period of between 12 and 18 months.
Taste
The Derain Saint-Aubin Le Ban is a light wine, rich in aromas. Red fruits, earthy and black fruit notes can be appreciated in its flavour. The palate is acidic, smooth and dry.
A true son of Burgundy
Dominique Derain is the creator of fabulous wines, including the exquisite Derain Saint-Aubin Le Ban. Originally a trained cooper, after a few years he became bored and decided to enter the world of winemaking.
He started working in the vineyards in 1983, with various experiences at the Henri Clerc winery, as well as in Alsace and Chablis. Then, at the end of the 1980s, Dominique Derain decided to develop as a winemaker. Today he is considered a legend and one of his greatest achievements is the creation of high quality wines such as this one.
The Derain Saint-Aubin Le Ban wine is a wine that can be tasted with more intensity if it is combined with red meats and white meats.
