Berthet Bondet Château Chalon 2013 - 62 cl.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2013 Château Chalon comes from an unusual year, a vintage of freshness and tension after a rainy season and a late ripening and harvest. It is a wine with marked acidity, and it should develop nicely in bottle. Their vines are 30 years old and are planted on gray marl soils from Lias and are tended to organically. The bunches are handpicked and pressed whole, the juice fermented in stainless steel and the wine matured in 228-liter oak barrels for over six years under a veil of yeasts that give the wine that unmistakable spicy and nutty twist. There's power and finesse here, with hints of lanolin and petrol; it's herbal, balsamic and medicinal, and the palate is perhaps a little lighter than other vintages. 8,000 clavelins were filled in May 2020.
