Description
Pago de Carraovejas El Anejón is one of the most emblematic wines of Pago de Carraovejas, coming from an exceptional vineyard located in Ribera del Duero. This wine is composed of 95% Tinto Fino, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, a blend that highlights the complexity and character of this unique terroir. The vineyards, planted on terraces at an altitude of between 800 and 840 metres above sea level, are spread over 9.43 hectares of austere, limestone-loam soils. This system of terraces, characteristic of the estate, allows excellent control of yields and perfect exposure to the sun.
Winemaking
El Anejón is harvested by hand in small boxes, ensuring a rigorous selection of the grapes on the table. After a meticulous vatting in small French oak vats, both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place spontaneously, enhancing the particularities of the vineyard. Finally, the wine is aged for 12 months in new 600-litre French oak barrels, which gives it its refined and structured character.

On first impression, it offers a remarkable freshness accompanied by a mineral touch that balances perfectly with its balsamic and floral notes. On the palate, its texture is silky, with a well-defined structure that unfolds in layers, offering flavours of ripe red fruits and soft spices. The finish is long and lingering, with a delicate presence of polished tannins that reflect the harmony between the vineyard and the ageing process.
