Description
Matarromera Crianza is more than a wine; it is an expression of the tradition and character of Ribera del Duero. This jewel of the Matarromera winery, founded in 1988 in Valbuena de Duero, is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes. The winery has gained international prestige since its first vintage in 1994, when it was awarded Best Wine of the World. The vineyards that give life to this emblematic crianza are located in the La Aguilera, Tejares, Martinete, Badén and Olivares estates, at an altitude of 730-790 metres, very close to the Duero River. These grapes, grown in clay-loam and limestone-loam soils, offer exceptional richness, benefiting from a continental climate with strong temperature fluctuations.
Winemaking
Matarromera Crianza follows a meticulous process, beginning with a 10-14 day fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 28ºC, followed by a 12-month ageing in French and American oak barrels, where the wine acquires a unique complexity. After this time, the wine rests for another 12 months in the bottle, refining its flavours and reaching the perfect maturity for consumption.

The taste of Matarromera Crianza is a sensory experience that combines elegance and persistence. On the palate, this wine displays a savoury character, with polished tannins and a structure that invites you to enjoy every sip. Its intense and complex aromas reveal notes of ripe black fruit and delicate spices, such as rosemary and clove, that evoke the land from which it originates. On the finish, its flavour is long and balanced, leaving a lasting and satisfying impression.
