Description
Domaine De La Grand Cour Brouilly Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is a wine that encapsulates the essence and tradition of French viticulture. Hailing from the Beaujolais region of France, this wine is distinguished by its meticulous winemaking and distinctive flavour. Grown in a clay-limestone terroir, Gamay vines over 60 years old, located at an altitude of 230 metres above sea level, are at the heart of this wine. The 1.7 hectare plot, owned by the Dutraive family for five generations, reflects a commitment to quality and sustainability.
Winemaking
The winemaking of this wine follows traditional methods, respecting the environment and the purity of the wine. The grapes are harvested by hand, using 20 kg perforated boxes to guarantee the integrity of the grapes. Vinification is carried out in cement and fibreglass tanks, followed by an ageing process of 50% in cement and 50% in French oak barrels for 6 months. This process, together with carbonic maceration and the use of indigenous yeasts, contributes to the complexity and authenticity of the wine. In addition, the use of SO2 in vinification and filtering is avoided, thus maintaining the purest expression of the terroir.

Domaine De La Grand Cour Brouilly Cuvée Vieilles Vignes offers a unique sensory experience. The nose reveals floral notes, especially of roses, complemented by a ripe and fresh fruit character. On the palate, it has a delicate, elegant and juicy texture. The tannins are of great finesse, bringing elegance to the wine, while its persistence is more than satisfactory. The palette of flavours includes nuances of red plum, raspberry, blueberry, prune, fig and sultana, with an earthy touch and a slightly rustic feel.
