Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The eighth rendition of this cuvée, the 2014 Brut Blanc de Blancs Blanc des Millénaires evokes a complex, sweet bouquet of candied lemon, confit citrus, blanched almonds, brioche, honeycomb and ripe orchard fruits. Full-bodied, broad-shouldered and ample, it features a velvety attack and a vinous, fleshy core of fruit, with a textural mid-palate that leads to a spicy, long and delicate finish. This is a stunning new release of this cuvée, showcasing its depth and elegance.

Description
Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires is a jewel in the world of champagne, a sublime expression of the tradition and excellence that Maison Charles Heidsieck represents. Since its first presentation in 1993, Maison Charles Heidsieck has unveiled only six more vintages of its famous Blanc des Millénaires: 1985, 1990, 1995, 2004, 2006 and 2007. Each is a testament to the winery's commitment to quality and tradition.
Winemaking
This champagne is the result of a meticulous selection of grapes. It is composed entirely of Chardonnay, specifically from the Côte des Blancs area. Five main Crus have been chosen for their ability to evolve and express their richness as they mature: Oger (for their oiliness and structure), Mesnil-sur-Oger (balance), Avize (minerality), Cramant (complexity) and Vertus (freshness and floral notes). Each cuvée is the exclusive product of great Chardonnays from iconic terroirs, selected for their incomparable texture, aromatic complexity and maturation capacity. The ageing of this champagne is almost 15 years, 10 of which were on the lees in the mythical and millenary chalk quarries, which give this champagne its name.
Taste
Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires has a pale golden colour with slight greenish reflections to the eye. Its nose is dominated by the chalky minerality of the Côte des Blancs, complemented by notes of toast and smoke. On swirling the glass, fresh citrus aromas of grapefruit, yuzu and quince emerge, bringing a youthful vibrancy to this delicate bouquet. On the palate, the identity of the vintage is interwoven with sharp, elegant acidity. An enveloping texture reveals itself: lemon meringue pie and saline notes. Its generosity is very prominent and will continue to develop with age. The sensation is silky, dynamic and perfectly structured, culminating in a long, round finish.
