Buy Wine from Anaïs Fanti
The Anaïs Fanti winery is located in the heart of Alsace, specifically in the picturesque village of Ammerschwihr. This region, known for its rich winemaking tradition, has seen the birth of one of the brightest stars of the new wave of talent in the world of wine: Anaïs Fanti.
Growing up in a family dedicated to the cultivation of vines for generations, Anaïs decided to follow in the footsteps of her ancestors, becoming the third generation to tend the family vineyards. After completing her training as a nurse in 2011 and working in palliative care, Anaïs embarked on a learning journey that took her to Georgia, the birthplace of wine, where she was deeply inspired by ancestral winemaking techniques. In 2018, she decided to formalise her passion for wine by enrolling in the BPREA programme in Rouffach, where she studied vinology and oenology. His return to Alsace in 2020 marked the beginning of his personal project by taking the reins of approximately 0.8 hectares of land from his grandfather in Ammerschwihr, then expanding in 2021 by acquiring an additional 1.6 hectares from the family and building his own winery.Vineyards
Anaïs Fanti manages a total of approximately 2.4 hectares of vineyards, with vines reaching up to fifty years of age. These vineyards are scattered in small plots around Ammerschwihr, where she grows varieties such as Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir and Auxerrois. The farming philosophy focuses on organic and biodynamic practices, seeking to promote biological diversity on their land. This includes planting trees between the vines and allowing herbs and wild flowers to grow for much of the year. The soil and climate of Alsace, combined with these practices, contribute to a unique terroir that is reflected in the quality and character of their wines.
Philosophy
Anaïs Fanti 's winemaking is carried out under a philosophy of minimal intervention, with a focus on practices that respect the environment and the pure expression of the terroir. Her winery, located under her uncle's house in Ammerschwihr, is testimony to her practical and thoughtful approach to winemaking. With just a few tanks, barrels and an old press, Anaïs produces wines that are pure, fragrant and nourishing. Vinification includes limited use of copper and sulphur in the vineyard, but none in the cellar, with all harvesting done by hand. Fermentation and most of the ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks, seeking to preserve the essence and freshness of each variety. Experimentation with techniques such as prolonged maceration in Georgian amphorae reflects the leitmotiv of Anaïs' project: fusing tradition with innovation to create wines that speak of the place they come from and the passion of the winemaker.
Anaïs Fanti has not only succeeded in continuing the family legacy, but has also put her personal stamp on each bottle, promising a bright future for this Alsatian winery. With wines that already stand out for their purity and expressiveness, Anaïs Fanti is emerging as a must for wine lovers looking to discover the new generation of vignerons in Alsace.
