The 2021 Leirana O Pradiño is the second vintage of a different Albariño from a vineyard planted in 2012 in Sanxenxo on decomposed gneiss soils with a very fine sandy texture. It has 12.5% alcohol and more integrated acidity than the initial vintage. It's more civilized and polished, with notes of pollen and bay leaf, a hint of straw (which I found in many 2021 whites here), developing a note of gunpowder with time in the glass, and it has a long, tasty finish. It fermented and matured in a 600-liter barrel. 750 bottles were filled in August 2022.
